Towards better sex with less harm for gay and bisexual men

A day of unprotected sex @ Guy's Hospital, 24th March 2012

Speakers: Ford Hickson

This thought-provoking talk leads us through the arguments that could lead to a renewal of sexual health work with men who have sex with men. It argues that reducing HIV incidence is not enough common ground on which health commissioners, clinical staff, community based organisations and men having sex can collaborate: we must also aim towards improving men's sex lives. What that best sex life will be varies enormously. Therefore no single risk reduction tactic will be desirable and sufficient for all instances of sex between men in the future. Promoting precautions means acknowledging the benefits of choices often ignored by community and clinical health promotion.
