The rationale for the study and its methods were briefly described before a discussion of the findings relating to HIV status diagnosis and disclosure, managing HIV within relationships, sexual behaviours and risk management, and the influence of family, friends and professional services. It closed by outlining the key challenges faced by HIV clinical services and community-based agencies in relation to this population.
